Apples Apples Apples

Apples Apples Apples

Hi everybody,

I’m sure all of you are ready for spring to arrive.  It’s 80 degrees here in Florida so it feels like spring is already here.  But most of my northern family and friends are still experiencing winter temps and snow, which is why I still want to continue to focus on winter season produce.  These next few posts I’ll be focusing on recipes using my favorite winter fruit, apples.

Those of you who have followed Bob Harper’s “Skinny Rules” know rule 6 states eat apples and berries everyday.  This is probably my favorite rule because apples are so delicious, especially Gala (my favorite).  I’m sure all of you have your favorite type of apple, so definitely incorporate your favorite apples into the apple recipes that I post.  Apples are not only amazing in meals, but they’re amazing as an easy filling healthy snack.  One of my favorite snacks is a sliced apple with almond butter to dip it in (mmmmm soooo good).

Apples are a great source of fiber (about 4 grams/apple).  They’re also a great antioxidant and source of vitamin C.  Apples help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes.  They’re so full of flavor but yet low in calories, contain almost no sodium, and they don’t  have any fat or cholesterol.  I hope you all enjoy some of these apple recipes I’ve found.  As always I only post the most delicious and easiest to make.  Enjoy!  😉
